Starting a new project
Last week I shared that I started to organize my scrap bins…I’ve already got them sorted by color family but the fabric is just lumped in there in no particular order. I took each bin and cut pieces 8.5, 4.5, 2.5 and 2.5x4.5. I still have no plans for the squares but I knew I was going to use the rectangles to make a potato chip quilt.
Here’s two of the bins…before and after

I started the potato chip block after I had cut down the red & yellow bins but then decided to wait until the rest of the bins had been cut to make it bigger. My plan was to make one BIG block…just keep adding ‘chips’ until I use them all or it’s too big to handle.
Here’s how it started (at 20.5”) and where it’s at now (40.5”)

I’ve decided to stop at this point. I’m going to add a 4” border, another round of chips then a 2” border and call it done. That will make it 52” square…a generous baby quilt….and no, I haven’t used all my chips 🫤😂

I wrapped up my July reading by finishing 13 books again!
Some were just OK but I absolutely devoured Mad Mabel (on audio) and I continue to enjoy the Emma M Lion books.
I need to get caught up on making book spine strips for my July reads…and now that I think about it, I need to finish June!

That’s all for now…have a great week
